Gastronomy and the pleasures of wine are an integral part of life in the Haut Languedoc. The wines of this region are patiently grown on the steep hillsides and like the culinary specialities, are an open invitation to be part of the way of life in the South of France.
Take a dip!
On the borders of the Hérault, the Tarn and the Aveyron, huge hydraulic dams have been built to create four lakes - the Raviège, the Laouzas, the Vesoles and the Saints-Peyre. Great favourites for bathing, water-sports and for unforgettable walks, these attractive lakes are wonderful places for visitors to stop and enjoy.
